Hi I’m back again with more Mage tips and secrets for you.

I found that in order to play your Mage well in PvP you will want to choose the Mage PvP talent tree that best suits your game play.

Combined with the right gear you can make any Mage PvP spec work for you.

A Good Mage PvP guide can give you information on exactly where best to put your talents.

General Overview on Mage talents;

Mage PvP Guide To Arcane Mage

The Arcane Mage is quite successful in the Battlegrounds.

Many of the Mage talents in this tree are well suited to PvP play.

  • Slow.
  • Arcane Power.
  • And Presence of Mind.

These are all useful Mage PvP talents.

Arcane spec is great if you already have a little experience of the Arcane tree.

You’ll be relying heavily on spells, that once mastered, will work very well in PvP play.

Arcane Mage is fantastic against paladins in particular.

However, Arcane PvP Mages do have to keep an eye on their mana, as the Arcane PvP tree is not the most mana efficient.

If you prefer, you can also use your Arcane talents to help support the other two trees for more power and control.

Mage PvP Guide To Fire Mage

Many PvP Mages will feel that the Fire Mage is the least effective in PvP combat.

But personally I think this particular build has the most extensive armory including;

  • Rapid Scorches.
  • Dragons Breath.
  • Frostfire Bolt.
  • Blastwave.
  • And Fire Blast.

And as far as Mage and PvP go, it can be extremely effective and entertaining.

Don’t forget that Fire and Frost Wards can reflect a Frost or Fire spell this can add a lot of effect.

A fire mage in PvP doesn’t stop moving and diversifying with each new situation.

The Fire tree is not as controlled as the other trees, so Fire PvP Mages work best as part of a group.

If you can take the enemy on using the rest of your team as a shield, using PvP Fire Mage spells will allow you to do big damage.

However, if you plan on fighting enemies one-on-one, then you may find that it is most useful to combine your Fire talents along with some Frost or Arcane talents.

Mage PvP Guide To Frost Mage

Frost Mages are the most popular Mage PvP talents.

They have the most burst potential due to Brain Freeze and Deep Freeze.

They also have the best survivability.

Added defences include;

  • Magic Attunement.
  • Magic Absorption.
  • And Arcane Fortitude.

They can swap backwards and forwards between Mage Armor and Ice whenever the change is needed.

Four things to take note of are;

  1. You’ll need to get 11% haste if you want to discharge the Deep Freeze.
  2. Specifically if you’re thinking of grouping with more casters – to pick up Focus Magic you’ll have to think about dropping a point from your Spell Impact.
  3. Frost works well for crowd control, allowing Frost PvP Mages to be excellent defenders.
  4. Plus the ability to summon a water elemental can be quite useful if you find yourself outnumbered and you need to buy yourself some more time.
